alien plants

Image
spring brings a lot of weird little creatures out, including mid blossoming plants that look like they came from another planet, look at this guy ! different angles of a weird looking plant. it looks like it's giving birth to a broccoli. the internet tells me it's called an angelica archangelica, apparently it has medicinal properties and it's named after the archangel gabriel (they think it was a gift from them). it's very cool looking, it feels like an alien plant.  not as weird but also very very cool: a fully perfectly round dandelion. not a single seed flew away yet. it's so pretty and kinda rare to find i think. so many wishes to be fulfilled, what would you ask it for after blowing them out ? a dandelion at the end of it's cycle: very round, very fluffy  these flowers were also kinda weird, and there was a bee who was obsessed with them, couldn't get enough, she didn't even leave when i got very close to take the photos, iris albicans + a little b...

volverรกn las oscuras golondrinas,

Image
(i looked up how you say golondrina in english and it said: swallow, and i simply refuse. i'm telling you now so you know, for the rest of this entry if you see the word golondrina, i mean swallow) we've had a family of golondrinas raising their baby chicks on the exact same spot of our backyard every spring for almost 10 years.  they came one year, build a nest and stayed there. we never took it down, so they kept coming back, they didn't even have to build a new nest because there was already one. i like to believe is always the same family, different generations of course, but the still family. they're fun, great entertainment. my bathroom's window shows exactly the spot were the nest is so we can observe the eggs and then see them feed the babies, teach them how to fly. it's so cool.  not everything is fun tho, they're quite overprotective of their babies. they act like they own the house and we are the ones invading it, and not the other way around. if...

the 3rd pig.

Image
i am a very introverted person, very socially awkward, socially inept even. i'm not kidding when i say is so bad it's most definitely pathological, i do need some sort of therapy intervention here, but i'm 28. i've survived this long, i can keep going on my own (also therapy is scary).      all this to say i enjoy an odd number of people. a group of people where everyone can pair up and leave me behind for a bit. they can talk among themselves while i'm there but i don't really need to actively participate. you could say i have the opposite of fomo: i want to miss out, please do overlook me, don't talk to me directly.        so i often find myself in trios of friends. 3 to be exact, i have 3 different friend groups in which i am the third one.        not to contradict myself here (the human mind is weird like that), while it is true i lowkey want to be left out, mainly because getting all the attention/h...

what's in my bag ? adventure edition

Image
i did say you would see this baby again so here we are,    [video shows my hand taking items out of a very cute strawberry shoulder bag. the items in order of appearance: a kuromi folded bag, a gardening glove, a miniature toy baby (plus sniff test by my dog), a knife] now it's literally adventure time. (tw: bugs !) first let me show you my ootd, the really cool print my shoe leaves behind, what i used the kuromi bag for (it's full of pinecones) and some critters (bee. worm, snail), if you're wondering why did i take the baby with me, i'm in the middle of a silly project and i needed some pictures of the baby with nature, these are some of my favorites + me using the glove i packed to rescue the baby (i love when i get to use my items, i didn't need the knife that day tho),   my mom loves trinket babies so when i saw him at one of the tables of the flee market i knew i had to get him for her. now i am building him a little room on a little box and i'm gonna mak...

shitty camera review

Image
idk if you've read me cry about the terrible photos my phone takes, but i decided to buy a camera. two seconds into looking cameras i realized i can't afford a camera, so i started looking for kids cameras, they're very cheap because they're essentially toys.   ☆☆ - don't buy unless you're a kid   i take silly photos of silly things, i don't need a professional camera to take a photo of a tree, i just need a camera. my main problems with my phone are: (1) doesn't focus when i try to take a close up, (2) doesn't focus if i zoom in and (3) it takes my phone 5 business days to open up the gallery app. so i figured a 20€ camera could fix those problems. it doesn't. i spent an afternoon with the camera and no, it won't focus when i try to take a close up. no, it doesn't focus if i zoom in. and even if it opens the gallery very fast, its issue is actually worse: it has like a whole 3h delay between pushing the button and actually taking the ph...

cloud shapes

Image
i saw this cloud the other day and i thought it looked like a guy laying down.  my mom couldn't see it and said it looked more like a star,      and i said: i guy laying down is basically a star, how can you see the star but not the guy ? so i told her to imagine patrick and then change all the star parts for a human head, arms and legs. it didn't work. she just can't see the guy......     anyways, here's snorlax because talking about a guy laying down so much reminded me of him,    can you see the guy ? or maybe a third secret thing.

opla: an ode to the absurd

Image
i'm not a fan of one piece, not because i don't like it but because i know nothing about it. i've never read the manga or watched the anime. well, nothing is a bit of an exaggeration. i do have friends who are fans and i do live on the internet, so i'm bound to know at least a little bit about one of the most famous pieces of media. i was aware of the way the main characters looked like and i knew it was about pirates. i also knew the 2 mains reasons keeping me from watching: it's extremely long and a little bit sexist on its fan service. so i was happy to hear about it sometimes thru one of my best friends but never actually engaging with the media myself. that was until they announced the live action. that cast was simply so cool, they got me interested. plus ! it was very short and i assumed (by the costumes) they were gonna at least water down the creepy fan-service.  little did i know, it was about to become one of my favorite tv shows that year.  you can not ...

all systems red

Image
yet another entry on my quest to make a collage of every single book i read to motivate me to read more this year: all systems red by martha wells.  i kept delaying this post because i don't think i can articulate in words how much i loved this book. i feel such aggressive love for every single word written in it i don't think anything i say can express the way my brain feels. let's start with this: i hate sci-fi. i think it's boring, i think it's overrated and it never catches my full attention. all i see is war, action and a bunch of men. i don't even enjoy the aesthetic, so sci-fi really does nothing for me.  when one of my besties recommended me this book, i was surprised. she knows i don't sci-fi but she also know what i like very well, so decided to give it a go. and oh boy, does she know me.  i made a post some weeks ago about what my favorite genre is, i basically said i don't have a fav genre but i will always enjoy a type of story: character d...

fruit art

Image
i was reading this really cool post the other day and it inspired me to share my own fruit stickers collection, so here we go !    when i was a kid, i got a Wreck This Journa l for my 2015 birthday. if you know me, you would think anything creative and crafty would be a great present for me, but i actually didn't enjoy this book as much as i expected. turns out i don't enjoy prompts at all, i much rather do my own thing. BUT ! it had a page where they asked you to collect fruit stickers. and i had so much fun with that one. that's how i got obsessed with them. first fruit collection: 2015 gonna get vulnerable for a second here, not gonna lie to yall, the years i spend at college, i kinda lost my whimsy. i didn't journal as much (or at all). those years were a really bad time for me mentally, so let's skip them ! i finished my career around 2018 and on 2022 i started journaling for real again. finally, on september 2023,  first page of my new journal: i decided...
