vibe check (should i start a pokemon card collection ?)

Image
   >hi !  i've been wanting to collect pokemon cards for a while now, here's what's stopping me:  i live in a small town where a pokemon card event has never ever happened (and it probably never will), so i would either: have to pull the cards i want (very expensive) or just get them online (not as fun as finding them organically).  i don't see real value on the cards, and i think it's stupid to pay more than 3€ for a mass produced piece of paper no matter how unique, shiny or rare it is.  when i was a kid i used to collect the transparent pokemon cards, do you remember them ? i had soooo many, i basically had the whole collection on a binder, and then enough repeats to make several playing decks. i had so much fun ! ! opening packs, playing, trading, filling the binder, looking thru the pages. the whole experience was great.  photo from an ebay listing   i recently finished my red velvet album collection, it's complete until they drop somethi...

stone divination

Image
i picked some stones from the beach to craft them into bugs, then realized i didn't have the materials, or the money to buy said materials, to recreate the pinterest photo that inspired me to do it.  i thought maybe i could imitate the effect with wire or cord, but it didn't look as cool, so i gave up.  i grabbed them all to put them back in the jar i had them in, and a few fell from my hands into the mat i had on my table. it reminded me of the videos i've seen of people reading rocks, so i decided to get into it and turn them into magic stones instead.  like every time i get into something new, i like to try and see if i can figure it out on my own, no tutorials, i hate video tutorials with a passion, and it's very hard to find well written, and to the point, ones.  i first looked into lithomancy charts and mats, because they always have something with a bunch of symbols on it to toss the stones on top off, and i assumed that's what they were reading, not the ston...

what's on my trinket shelf (5/?): spider-man

Image
this is my most modest collection, but also one of my favorites. i love spider-man, i can't get enough, i think about it every day and it makes me so happy. the difference between this one and my other collections: this is the only one dedicated to a very popular worldwide beloved character, which means all the merch is quite expensive. most of my trinkets are second hand and super cheap, but with spider-man, even if you buy second hand, it's considered a collection piece, and they will charge you at the very least 50€, and that's why most of the shelf is art, i don't have that many figurines or trinkets, because i don't have a lot of money.  that's how it looks like. before the close ups, let me credit the artists from left to right: umikochannart (instagram, cowboy eddie brock x venom horse), ultimate-marysue (tumblr, sleepy spidey on the metro), guihenris (instagram, chibi peter parker), patrolsilver_ (twitter, peter parker variant 616), marlkly (twitter, spi...

patience and kindness

Image
i've talked about this book before , and i know what you're thinking, how did it take you sooo long to read a poetry book ? the truth is i've been savoring it, i didn't want it to end. in some ways, i still haven't finished it, because i keep coming back to the little pieces i have marked, to read them again and again and again.   here's a collage of one of those pages i keep coming back,  my favorite verse,  Los Γ‘rboles en marzo son postes de madera,  y hay unas tiernas hojas que consiguen cambiarlos y es que la paciencia y la ternura valen para todo.  Por esto y otras cosas no me mato.    ༄˖°.πŸ‚.ೃ࿔*:・   in March, the trees are wooden sticks, but there's some cute leaves that change them that is, patience and kindness* work for everything. it is because of that and a few other things, i don't kill myself.     *ternura could mean kindness, but in a way that also conveys:  tenderness, love, softness,  endearment  ...

rating movies i watched (august edition)

SPIDER-MAN BRAND NEW DAY (2026)  ☆☆ ☆ ☆ this was my raw reaction the second i came out the cinema:   (SPOILERS)   now is later, i think i still love it as much, i've seen many commentary of people saying how peter was lowkey evil for inventing the universal thing that kills mutant powers, using the face recognition surveillance (+ how the movie is propaganda trying to convince us is a good thing for the government to control us like that), and how crazy is they portrayed jean as a good guy when she's literally a murderer.  idk if it's because i am in a complete different political frame and society than the people from the US, but i wasn't bother by those things as much. i will agree i never like it when spider-man works with the police, but sadly this is not the first time it happens, there's many many many versions and universes in which spidey is friendly with police officers (yuck). also i was under the impression the government was the main villain of the m...
