stone divination
i picked some stones from the beach to craft them into bugs, then realized i didn't have the materials, or the money to buy said materials, to recreate the pinterest photo that inspired me to do it.
i grabbed them all to put them back in the jar i had them in, and a few fell from my hands into the mat i had on my table. it reminded me of the videos i've seen of people reading rocks, so i decided to get into it and turn them into magic stones instead.
like every time i get into something new, i like to try and see if i can figure it out on my own, no tutorials, i hate video tutorials with a passion, and it's very hard to find well written, and to the point, ones.
i first looked into lithomancy charts and mats, because they always have something with a bunch of symbols on it to toss the stones on top off, and i assumed that's what they were reading, not the stones.
turns out i simply don't understand what any of them mean, so i wouldn't be able to just drop a few rocks on one of those and read your future, sadly.
trying to figure out what the symbols meant, i ended up learning, apparently, you don't even need a chart, so people were actually reading the stones ! !
it looks like i only need 13 stones of similar shape and size, plus ! if i want them to be effective is better to pick them from nature during favorable astrological configurations, and by using my intuitive powers as a guide. whatever that means, let's just say that's how i gathered my rocks.
then i need to mark them with symbols, it says i can use any symbols i want, i can personalize them for my readings, but there's a list of the usual 13. i'm gonna use those.
the Sun (power, energy, and life), the Moon (inspiration, psychic ability, and intuition), Saturn (longevity, protection, and purification), Venus (love, fidelity, and happiness), Mercury (intelligence, self-improvement, and the overcoming of bad habits), Mars (courage, defensive magic, battle, and conflict), Jupiter (money, justice, and prosperity), Earth (security of home, family, and friends), Air (wishes, hopes, dreams, and inspiration), Fire (passion, willpower, and outside influences), Water (compassion, reconciliation, healing, and cleansing), Spirit (needs of the self, and communication with the Divine), The Universe (shows us our place in the grand scheme of things, on a cosmic level).
so far it's giving extremely similar vibes to tarot and horoscope, and since i'm well verse on the first one, i kinda felt like i could already do some reading just knowing this. just make a simple chart, like the second one in the photo, and throw my rocks at it. each of them will fall on a category, so i can tell you what your love life is looking like by reading the symbols on the stones inside the love quadrant.
but all of the stones have nice meanings, so i just couldn't imagine translating that into solving a problem or a question, turning it into advice, like i do with tarot. confusing, but not enough to make me watch a video.
i spent hours looking at charts trying to understand them on my own instead ! sooo much more simple (sarcasm) ! !! and i just don't know what it means, i can't read it into something that makes any sense. is it only important which category they fell on ? or is the placement important too ? closer to the center means something different than almost outside the circle ? ?? ? what do you mean the universe is on creativity ?? ? the moon on status ? huhh ??
i guess i could understand it without a chart, let's say i'm feeling stuck in this moment of my life and i'm wondering if i should leave my job to try and get a better one, one that would lead me to actual change and growth. i throw them and they land like this,
i would only read the ones showing the symbols. it looks like the Moon is me, my intuition, if i followed it, i would change jobs, then right next to her it's Fire, maybe showing me i can do it, i have the willpower, i just have to be brave. but there's Jupiter down there, surrounded by earth, the spirit and the universe. money (Jupiter), and on one of its sides: security (Earth), on the other: my needs (the Spirit). i want to leave, my spirit needs it, but i am so safe in here right now. i have income, i'm good at it, i know all my coworkers (and i like them), i accidentally fell into this routine, and it's been years now, it's hard to let it go. what if what i find next is worst ?
it looks to me tho, like the Universe (my place in the grand scheme of things) it's a little bit closer to the Spirit....
now that's fun ! and it makes sense, and it helped me think thru my anxieties and worries, much like tarot, i like it.
maybe i will figure out the charts another day. or maybe i just use a super simple one that only says past, present and future.

I like the way you assembled the oracle, it may look like tarot with rocks, but it feels more like reading the leaves of tea or the remaining of coffe ( ⸝⸝´꒳`⸝⸝).
