well,

i was looking thru my frog text book to choose a frog for my little heart shaped frame, and came across her:    perfect, classic frog, the very image that forms in your mind when you think of a frog, so i decided to look no more, for she was exactly what i needed. the book said this about her:    so not only is she perfect but she has the cutest name ever, and she's a fashionista ? wdym she can be 30 different colors ? ???? ? i looked her up and it's clear why they named her after strawberries, she's so ladybug-berry-fairy coded, i can't believe she's real ! no wonder they had to clarify she's poisonous, because i want to hold her so bad....   well imagine my surprise when i find out, she's also out there looking like this,      is this not giving spider-man ? ? could she be more perfect ? of course i had to put her on my little frame !        

i've featured this alien plant in several of my posts now, let's see if i can find them all ( here , here and here ), i was walking my dog the other day and i saw her again ! she's all dry and dead, i guess it makes sense since it's 40º outside, i figured i would take a photo and show you guys, so we can have a full circle moment         i honestly can't believe that's her ! she's been thru so much... she's literally just a stick now ! i will keep an eye out next spring to see if she comes back at that exact same spot or not.  and since i haven't post about nature and critters in a long time, let me just show you a compilation of lizards i've found these past few weeks,   terrible quality, as per usual, i still don't own a camera, but at this point i don't even care, this way they look like one of those bigfoot sightings, so they feel even more like critters, and not just a regular lizard.   also, i don't know if you can tell, but th...

every time my dog comes out the bushes there's something on him, mainly leaves and pollen, and he comes directly to me so i can help him take off the ones he couldn't after shaking.  the other day he came trotting and happy, unaware of the little snail resting on his head, it was fully out too, just sliding around his big chonky head, not a care in the world. i got super excited and tried to take a picture, but right the same second i focused my phone's camera to his face, he shook it off ! ! i saw the poor little guy flying to the sky and onto the grass. i bet that was a huge adventure for the snail, for trufo it was just a weird slimy feeling on his head he had to shake off... to me, it was a very cute memory that still makes me smile. here's an artistic recreation of the event,  

look at this big fat lizard, god i love him, it always makes me so happy to see one on my walks, i live in the coast, kinda tiny city, wikipedia says 12,3   km² but i don't understand numbers like that, so it means nothing to me. what i do understand is that we share the space with the seagulls (gaviotas, if what to use their preferred name) and i love them. they're a little evil and a menace, like every other bird, but my friends nonetheless. i am scared of them but i will always be happy to share the beach, the sun and my potato chips with them.  the other day, one did me a solid.  i work at a cafe, we were closing, or trying. if you've ever worked at a cafe, you know people never let you close. picture this: the end of a very long shift, i am overstimulated and extremely tired and still have to clean everything, the whole place is a mess. we are 3 people, we could really use another 2 sets of hands, i am the one in charge so every decision goes thru me, there has ...

i dont have time to post as much as i would want to and it makes me sad ! !! ! i have a post about strawberries in the works that i'm excited to share but i just can't find a second to sit down and properly do it ! in the meantime tho,  tw: dead animal (bones, skull). i went for a walk with my mom and my dog, instead of taking the usual route we decided to take a different path because it was a while since we took it and we wanted to check it out.  we really love it, it's a pretty dystopian place, it's a half built neighborhood. lowkey spooky and it has very weird vibes. it's almost abandoned. very few of the houses are fully built and with people living in it, some of the houses are half built and some others are just the idea of a house. the streets are half made with a bunch of holes and overgrown plants, there's streetlamps and traffic lights but they don't work. all the construction materials are laying around and the protective fences are all worn out,...

spring brings a lot of weird little creatures out, including mid blossoming plants that look like they came from another planet, look at this guy ! different angles of a weird looking plant. it looks like it's giving birth to a broccoli. the internet tells me it's called an angelica archangelica, apparently it has medicinal properties and it's named after the archangel gabriel (they think it was a gift from them). it's very cool looking, it feels like an alien plant.  not as weird but also very very cool: a fully perfectly round dandelion. not a single seed flew away yet. it's so pretty and kinda rare to find i think. so many wishes to be fulfilled, what would you ask it for after blowing them out ? a dandelion at the end of it's cycle: very round, very fluffy  these flowers were also kinda weird, and there was a bee who was obsessed with them, couldn't get enough, she didn't even leave when i got very close to take the photos, iris albicans + a little b...

(i looked up how you say golondrina in english and it said: swallow, and i simply refuse. i'm telling you now so you know, for the rest of this entry if you see the word golondrina, i mean swallow) we've had a family of golondrinas raising their baby chicks on the exact same spot of our backyard every spring for almost 10 years.  they came one year, build a nest and stayed there. we never took it down, so they kept coming back, they didn't even have to build a new nest because there was already one. i like to believe is always the same family, different generations of course, but the still family. they're fun, great entertainment. my bathroom's window shows exactly the spot were the nest is so we can observe the eggs and then see them feed the babies, teach them how to fly. it's so cool.  not everything is fun tho, they're quite overprotective of their babies. they act like they own the house and we are the ones invading it, and not the other way around. if...
