fat lizards and a dead sheep

i dont have time to post as much as i would want to and it makes me sad ! !! ! i have a post about strawberries in the works that i'm excited to share but i just can't find a second to sit down and properly do it ! in the meantime tho,

 tw: dead animal (bones, skull).

i went for a walk with my mom and my dog, instead of taking the usual route we decided to take a different path because it was a while since we took it and we wanted to check it out.

we really love it, it's a pretty dystopian place, it's a half built neighborhood. lowkey spooky and it has very weird vibes. it's almost abandoned. very few of the houses are fully built and with people living in it, some of the houses are half built and some others are just the idea of a house. the streets are half made with a bunch of holes and overgrown plants, there's streetlamps and traffic lights but they don't work. all the construction materials are laying around and the protective fences are all worn out, broken and not really functional anymore.

the border of the neighborhood (if you can even call it that) connects directly to the forest. they were meant to destroy the forest and make the rest of the houses and streets there. in fact, all of the things that are already constructed used to be forest.

we have to jump what's left of a fence to get to the forest. there's a fence because the first part of the forest it's full of cut down trees and construction materials. every time we go there (we're not suppose to) the whole time we are in the part of the forest that's considered construction zone we get followed by a drone. then when we get to the actual forest part, it leaves. this obviously adds to the dystopian vibes.

it's fun and scary. it's cool to see how the forest is trying to eat the neighborhood now, when a few years back it was the other way around. i hope nature wins, i hate when they build houses no one real can afford. just a bunch of disgusting rich people that already own 6 houses.

to illustrate the vibes, look at these high voltage boxes, they're meant to keep all the cables for electricity, wi-fi and stuff like that but instead they're full of giant snails,

anyways ! we also saw a few big fat lizards !!!! they were hanging out, enjoying the sun ! god, i love lizards so much ! !!! i can't get enough !! i'm so happy i was born in a place full of them so i can see them everyday <3 they even come over at my house sometimes. i was able to take one blurry pic, because they run and hide so fast when they see people (relatable), you can still appreciate how cute it is tho,

and now that we are on the topic of cute and relatable, the cardos borriqueros are blooming !! !! some random dictionary on the internet tells me they're called cotton thistle in english, idk. they're so pretty and big and purple and prickly, spiky, hard and painful to the touch. when i was a kid they used to call me cardo borriquero because i wasn't very friendly, i hated to be touched and hated being around people so much it was hard for me to be nice sometimes. it's suppose to be an insult but after so many years hearing it i ended up owning it, so what if i'm hard to the touch ? i don't even like you, i'm glad you can't touch me. i'm glad i'm big and prickly.

2 photos of a cotton thistle on different stages. one is about to bloom, the other one fully bloomed

i love them like this but i like them even more later when they dry and get brown and truly crazy really really spiky, like the spikes they get are like actual weapons but you can see inside the soft fluffy cotton-like center. it looks so cool and hardcore.

sighs. i like walking around nature so much, everything makes me happy there. even sad things like a dead sheep feel fascinating, look at this skull !! the placement ?? the way it's framed by the green leaves ??  it's so good ! so pretty,

also what about these little tree flowers ??? they looks like something a fairy would wear, i'm so jealous, i wish i was tiny enough to use one as a hat !

close up a bunch of little flowers hanging from a tree. they looks like bells. the petals are curled up a little.

enough about me and my walk tho,
what's your favorite thing you say today ?
