alien plants

spring brings a lot of weird little creatures out, including mid blossoming plants that look like they came from another planet, look at this guy !

the internet tells me it's called an angelica archangelica, apparently it has medicinal properties and it's named after the archangel gabriel (they think it was a gift from them). it's very cool looking, it feels like an alien plant. 

not as weird but also very very cool: a fully perfectly round dandelion. not a single seed flew away yet. it's so pretty and kinda rare to find i think. so many wishes to be fulfilled, what would you ask it for after blowing them out ?

these flowers were also kinda weird, and there was a bee who was obsessed with them, couldn't get enough, she didn't even leave when i got very close to take the photos,

iris albicans. that's what the internet says they're called. which is basically a white lily. this got me a bit confused because i fully thought lilies were houseplants, plus i've seen many at flower shops and i don't think they look like this one at all. they're more like a big flower with very clear open petals and some sticks coming out their center. 

so i looked it up ! and the scientific name of those lilies i'm talking about is lilium candidum, clearly not the same plant. i was right. i think what happened is that information got lost in translation, as if often does. the iris albicans common name in spanish is: lirio blanco or lirio de campo, that translates to white lily or sylvester lily. if you look up white lily, the search takes you to lilium candidum. so we lose the iris albican in the middle of it. they look really cool, they're basically lilies crazy cousin.

i loooove tiny colorful cactus ! i also looked them up and i think they're sedum rubens. i do wonder if i'm lowkey doxing myself by showing all these plants hahah, i think you could at least tell the broad area i'm from by looking at these photos. 

anyways, 

bonus creature ! not a plant this time. if you remember this post i made about the forest critters, i talked about some of the critters i saw every day but couldn't take a picture of because i wasn't fast enough + my phone camera sucks, one of them was a duck.

 

as you can see, i was not joking when i said my camera is the worst, but that's the duck ! you can see him right ? very blurry, it's giving one those loch ness monster sightings..... but this one is real, i swear ! he's so cute. 

and talking about weird sightings at the forest, a chair.

not a creature but still pretty weird.
