yet another tarot read: summer edition
last time i posted a tarot reading i used my sonic deck, this time, for summer, i'm gonna go with my red velvet deck, because they invented pop summer ! and i'm super excited for their rumored comeback this august.
this is a special deck because i diy-ed myself, i love tarot and i have a burning passion for turning all my favorite things into tarot cards, so let me explain some quirks of the deck before we get into the reading:
if you're a fan of both tarot and the kpop group, i hope this makes sense to you and it's as fun as it is to me ! and if you don't know red velvet at all, just treat this as a regular reading ! i hope you get your answers and get to think about your issues from a new perspective, much like when you share your problems with your friends and they help you to unravel everything with new points of view.
tarot is not magic, nor is it reading your future. the whole session depends on you making an active conscious effort of connecting the meaning of the card to your question. tarot allows you to sit with your problems, think about all the little details, and have an eye opening conversation about them, that hopefully would change the way you see it and the way you interact with the problem in the future.
it can also be a silly fun time with your friends, improvising the meaning of the cards by the little drawing you get always leads to laughing ! either way, you should never take it too seriously or think it will give you a magic prediction that will solve all your problems, at the end of the day, it's you (and your community) that will have to solve it.
now without further ado, the reading: celtic cross spread.
if we were in person, i would probably let you interact with the cards in some sort of way, and you could see they get chosen by the universe, but since we're not, you're gonna have to trust i'm pulling out the cards randomly,

1. the present: this position reveals the current situation, or your current state of mind going thru this moment. this card should help you figure out how you really feel about what's going on,
this cards implies you might be unwilling to face reality, hiding yourself on daydreams. you are unsure of what you're looking for, so it's easier to just imagine a world where you don't have this issue. but this card also predicts the end of this tendency, it believes you can cut out the illusions and move forward with clarity.
2. the problem: very self explanatory, this position represents the issue, the concern. the very thing you need to resolve to be able to make progress.
this is a very positive card, so for her to come out as the problem is quite interesting. i feel like this card usually tries to remind you the importance of taking care of both yourself and your surroundings, you should make sure to create a safe space for yourself and also your loved ones. now, could the problem be that you're not doing this ? and if you are, could the problem be someone leaching off your nurturing energy, taking advantage of your love and good deeds ?
3. the past: this positions informs us of the influences of the past, and how they shaped the current situation you're in.
4. the future: more like close future, if you don't change something soon. this position will show you what could happen short term, given that nothing changes. it doesn't represent the final resolution of the events.
THE WHEEL OF FORTUNE
one of my favorite cards. kinda crazy that you pulled this as your future. this card embodies the feeling of enjoying it while it last for what comes up must come down. many things are out of our control, both good and bad things are bound to happen to everyone, doesn't matter what you do. the positive side is, if you are in a bad situation, things will eventually become better again. so what's your current situation ? what's on your near future ? good or bad ?
5. conscious: this position represent your mind, where is it at ? what are you focused on ? what are your goals regarding this situation ? what do you hope will happen ?
REVERSED SIX OF CAKES
this card suggests some sort of imbalance. you might feel like you're giving more than you are receiving, or is it that you feel bad because you're taking more than you give ? either way, there's an unfair power dynamic around you. it also reminds you that the source of generosity should be selfless, not selfish.
6. unconscious: this position reveals a hidden influence, it brings up something you weren't even aware you were feeling or thinking about.
TEN OF SWORDS
this card is the literal graphic representation of betrayal, like you may better know her as a picture of a dude getting stabbed 10 times in the back...
damn, i don't even know what your query was, but i'm starting to believe there's someone out there trying to ruin your days, but you're somehow not willing to let them go. girl (gender neutral gossipy term)- why ? i get that this is your unconscious, you might not even know but still.
anyways, just to keep it impartial like a did with the other cards, let me just give you the meaning, and you can relate it to your question on your own. the ten of swords implies a major disaster, you didn't see it coming, but something big hit you. but it's also telling you that even if you feel like you can't get up, even if hurts so much you think there's nothing you can do to fix it, you must remember the end of something can only lead to a new beginning.
7. your influence: this position is about how you see yourself, and how that perception is influencing the issue and how it plays out.
REVERSED KING OF FRUIT
oh baby, it's only natural that you feel overwhelmed and anxious. whatever your concern is, they tend to makes us feel that way.
on the other hand, this card also suggest the presence of someone who has recently changed for the worst, someone who has become manipulative and emotionally controlling, even tho they used to be so not like that at all ! is it yourself ? or someone else ?
8. external influence: this position will read the card as the world around you, and its influences on the situation you're in.
THE CHARIOT
the atmosphere around you might not be the best, but this card is definitely telling you to take the bull by the horns. the chariot is all about overcoming challenges by keeping calm and controlling your surroundings. you might even have to do some out of character shit, but it will eventually lead to your goal.
9. hopes and fears: the human mind is a complex little thing, hopes and fears, even if they sound like opposites, are often very closely related. this position will allow us to reflect on what you want and what you're avoiding, could they be the same thing ?
REVERSED QUEEN OF COLORS
this card is recommending you to stop, for it thinks you lack direction. pause for a moment and reflect about your ambitions and motivations. in this specific position, it might be implying you don't know what your hopes and fears are, is asking you to slow down and reconnect with yourself. evaluate your relationships even, are they supportive ? are you surrounded by toxicity ?
10. outcome: finally, this positions works as a summary, the final thoughts of the reading, given everything you've reflected on, what is the most likely outcome of this situation ?
JUSTICE
another favorite of mine ! the decisions you make, affect the future, and you will eventually be judge.
if your actions caused pain to others, this card is probably a warning, an opportunity to do better. <<you never know when the good you do, might come back around>>
