twisted shadows

this collage is a mess, but so is the book... i feel like if you've read it, you get it, and if you haven't, well then, you don't.

i think making a collage of this book was harder because it's a second part, so the collage i made for the first one still works for this one, making something different wasn't really working for me, so instead of making a collage of the vibes of the book, like i usually do, i decided to make one that speaks of specific scenes in the book. you know when people make those post with "out of context spoilers" ? it's a bunch of random photos that you will only understand if you've seen the movie ? that's what this collage is ! so more of a moodboard maybe ?

my opinion didn't change much, i stand by my words: these books are just so silly ! !! but this one.... this one was gayer ✧˖°.♡︎˙α΅•˙⋆。°✩ ! !!  yay !

(actual real spoilers ahead)

allow me to graciously gloss over all the commentary most dystopian future fantasy books have, about corrupted governments, powerful rich people, discrimination, and how easy the masses can be fooled into doing some real evil shit thru fear and pain, so i can get straight into the romance part of the story.

a little something about me, probably TMI, i enjoy foreplay so much more than sex, and these 2 fellas can't touch y'all..... so you can imagine how high were the levels of yearning, teasing, flirting, of so desperately wanting what they can't have.... so good.

not to be your typical tumblr user but: doomed yaoi <3 my beloved. i already talked about them on my post about part one, but let me go over it again: one of them (evan grayson) is known as the dead man, he is so emotionless that empaths can't bear to look at him, they can't hear him speak without getting sick, and they can't touch him without passing out. it's a defense mechanism because he is a weapon created to defend the world from corrupted evil empaths. the other (reece) is an empath.

the first book is a forced proximity kinda trope, where they are forced to work together, even tho they clearly hate each other, they are natural enemies. they get to know each other, reece gets use to the dead man's face and voice but can't help to pass out if they touch. we kinda see by the end of the book how they grow fond for each other, but nothing really happens, the mission ends and they go their separate ways.

the second book tho !! !!!! it was so gay ! !!! a perfect read for june. the way i was thriving reading both of their povs, i giggled so much, i think i might've gotten the world record on most giggles ever giggled if i had recorded myself reading this. i had soooo much fun !

the most accurate way i can explain the vibes of this saga is: it would make a great trashy tv show, you know like supernatural, teen wolf or  buffy the vampire slayer. it's really bad, silly and lowkey cringe, but you can't stop looking and it's genuinely making your life better.

i'm really exited to read the next part ! and it literally just came out yesterday ! talk about perfect timing !! so trust me ! you will hear about them again ! !!

this next book is gonna be so interesting, by the end of the second one reece becomes corrupted, so essentially evil, and the dead man is starting to feel things, which he thought was impossible. so now we have reversed roles ! reece is evil and evan is good ? we're back to enemies ! ! it really went enemies to friends to lovers to enemies, and i hope to lover again ! but we'll see.
