the art of coloring wrong
i think i've already mentioned around here, crayons are my favorite coloring tool, they brake in half in the middle of using them, they're chonky, messy, don't blend well, basically impossible to erase... the perfect tool for an imperfect drawing.
if you use them for coloring, specially if you haven't sharpen them in months, it's already gonna look bad, but i also love to add one more layer of wrong to it. i like to color under one rule: nothing can't be the color it's suppose to be. color the sun blue and the ocean orange, the grass pink and the sky yellow, use green as a skin tone and neon purple for the eyes. if it's an official character known for it's colors, change them all ! sponge bob is now red, doraemon is pink and piglet is green. one other rule i like is: you're only allowed one color, any shade, but just one color.
many people pick up coloring as a hobby to relax, and they end up getting so in their heads over it looking beautiful, it stops being relaxing. i think if you start the page already planning for it to look bad, it won't shatter your expectation when you're done, so only the fun part is left: coloring !! plus you could be surprised, they actually turn out quite pretty, or at least satisfying to look at.

some of these date as far as 2017, so looking at all of them together like this is really interesting, i think they all have very similar vibes and colors (you can probably guess my favorite color), and it's not even half of them, i have sooo many coloring books.....
remember art isn't suppose to be perfect, we create not because we have to, but because we want to, because we enjoy it ! !! ! our brains crave to be creative, don't stop yourself ! try it !! be clumsy, do it badly, make it ugly ! and then show it to me, i will love it for you <3
