taking some me time (flea market haul)

the flea market it's called rastro where i'm from, and i think that word has more similar vibes to the place than flea market, spanish is such and ancient language, it has so many words and so much history, i like it, i think it often does a better job than english describing the world.

anyway, i've been feeling kinda low lately, i don't have much energy and i'm little sad, so i haven't been doing much on my free time, mostly sleep and watch trash tv. it's been weeks since i last got a free sunday, so i decided to get over myself i go to the flea market, to try and feel something.

first i got these 2 dolls for 50 cent, they're cute. i got the LOL doll because they're fun to customize, i like to put littlest pet shop heads on them, and i thought the pink bunny would look great on her, but after further inspection, it looks like she's part of the hello kitty collection, and now i don't know if want to destroy her like that... maybe she'll stay just a doodle.

it's unusual at a second hand market but there were 2 people selling their art, and i can never say no to good handmade trinkets, so i bought something in both booths, a little chicken from a super nice lady (4€) and the cutest wooden magnet, with a mini painting of a fairy frog on a mushroom, from a super shy teen (also 4€),

the market is right next to the beach, and the beach connects to a natural park full of pine trees and picnic tables made of rocks. i stayed on the park for a while, it was really hot, but under the tree's shadow feeling the ocean breeze, it was almost cold, the perfect temperature. while i cooled off, i read a little, finally out of my reading slump !! it's been so long, i've missed reading so bad, but i keep doomscrolling instead, luckily the trees won't let the internet connection thru.

on my way back to the car, i had to go thru the whole market again and picked up my last purchases, some jibbitz for my crocs (1€ all 3), and a couple of old comics (2€, each) i thought would look cool on my spider-man shrine.

i got back to my car under the impression of having a rather unsuccessful trip, but writing about it and looking back, it looks like i got pretty cool stuff, i enjoyed the shadow and the silence of the pine trees, i read, and i even got home and drew a little (it's been months since i last drew something). i still feel low, but i'm glad i went, it was for sure better than staying in bed, watching my life with the walter boys, again.

sighs, i'm a little hungry, i should eat.
