rating a few movies for fun
i have this little notebook were i write down and rate everything i watch and read each month. back when i used to have twitter i made threads reviewing the movies and i miss doing that so much ! so i decided to blog about it instead.
i was thinking every 4-5 movies i watch i will make an entry talking about them, so here goes movies i watched on april + may so far.
(light spoilers ahead)
i watched it for the same reason everyone else did, to experience all these iconic women working together. i knew it was gonna be witchy but i didn't know much about the plot, so i went in blind, really.
you can probably tell by the rating already but i very much enjoyed myself, i had so much fun !! the movie was quirky and weird, every single piece of dialogue was iconic and funny, the costumes were super cool, the characters were very well written but also super silly. i feel like the movie took very seriously not being serious, idk if i'm making sense.
the vibes were mean girls if mean girls was a slasher horror. so beaware: there's lots of blood, graphic death and hate in the movie.
i will definitely watch it again and i would love to watch it with friends, so we can be weird it out together.
(sighs) movies about hope and love, my beloved. this was just a good movie, doesn't matter what angle you look it from.
it was so sweet and so funny, i'm talking laughing out loud, even if you're not a kid, the jokes in this movie are genius. the plot is so precious and so good !!! it's just good ya'll, you should watch it. i laughed, cried, related to the characters and then cried some more, it was a great time, every second of the movie.
my favorite part was the switch between animal kingdom and human world. when we are watching everything happen from the animal point of view, the animals have personalities, human like face expressions, and they talk, of course, but when we are on human pov all the forest creatures look just like regular animals and they can't talk. the switch from these two worlds its so well done and it makes the funniest scenes i've seen in a movie for a while.
i felt child-like joy watching this movie and it made me hopeful and happy for a few days after. i recommend the experience.
you can always sign me up for a silly romcom, which is what this was. it was a nice time, i liked the movie but i won't be thinking about it any time in the future. i will probably forget i ever watched it by the end of the year.
it's worth the watch if you're looking for a predictable, fun plot with a lot of pretty characters with cliche personalities, and of course, two hotties flirting with each other for an hour straight and then kissing.
i don't mean any of that as a negative review btw, i started watching looking exactly for that and that's what they gave me, i had fun ! hence the 3 star rating.
back in the day, when i was trying to get thru high school and then college i used to watch k-dramas on the daily as an escape from this ugly world, to the point where it was almost the only type of visual content i consumed. then, the same way you end up tired of that food that's been your favorite thing for the past 5 years, i stopped.
i don't know if you were here when i posted this entry about failing to find a good romcom, but lately i've been looking to feel the way romcoms are suppose to make you feel, i've been looking for something that makes me blush and giggle and kick my feet.
the other day i suddenly remembered how much i used to love k-dramas and i decided to give it a go again. and oh boy, am i glad i did ! !! tHis, this is how you write a romcom. it's been so long since i had so much fun watching a light hearted romance.
this movie was so sweet. watch this little teen struggle with problems that are not real, have fun with her friends, get over her first crush, fall in love with a cute boy. sighs, so cute, and i did giggle and kicked my feet !!! finally ! !
and the kiss..... k-dramas have this unique ability to make you feel such intense emotions for the tiniest forms of physical contact. i can watch explicit sex scenes in my european movies with a straight face, or even worst: bored ! but then catch myself screaming and blushing at two character linking their pinkies on a k-drama.
it's all about the build up ! if you write it well a soft peck can be so much more impactful than a hot make out.
i think i'm gonna go back to watching some k-dramas, maybe some shoujo anime even, just to feel something.
