nct jnjm should've been iconic

 did i love it ? yes

was i expecting something more iconic ? also yes 

 

i think is only natural to look back to other kpop duos when they announce a new one. so when SMent finally drops a teaser for the most wanted, most awaited sub-unit in years: nct dream's jeno and jaemin (one the the most popular ships in kpop history), my mind immediately thought of the other 2 iconic duo sub-units they've created.

 

  

2018 nct's ten and taeyong: baby don't stop

2020 red velvet's irene and seulgi: monster 

 

these 2 pairs are also known for their chemistry, both in and out the stage. the company knew anything (and i mean: a n y t h i n g) they did together would've been well received. everyone is obsessed with them. which is why eventually they were chosen out of their respective groups to be a unit.

 

even tho anything would've been good, they still decided to make it iconic. both taeten and aseul made history with their songs and they will forever be remembered as key points in kpop. they are beyond generations, doesn't matter in which kpop gen you joined the club, you know them.

but i don't think that will be the case with nct jnjm. and i can't help but t be sad about it. they had the opportunity and the potential to do something crazy but instead they went for something good.

 

if you're not into kpop i don't think you can even imagine how famous these 2 are. AS A DUO. i'm talking dan and phil, tom and jerry, morticia and gomez, doofenzhmirtz and perry, trixie and katya. they are a unit fot two. they go together, you cannot name one without thinking of the other. they are jeno and jeamin.

 

they have crazy chemistry: as friends on their silly little youtube videos and as idols on stage.the amount of fan-service (casual because they genuinely love each other and on purpose to make fans scream) these 2 do, could be enough to feed the whole world. 

 

 

 

their first song together could've been so much more. especially after teasing and edging the fandom for years ! they were loved as a duo even before their actual debut on 2016 ! !!

 

and don't get me wrong, i already said i loved the mini album. how could i not ? ?? ? they're both so talented, so charismatic and soooo damn hot ! !!! i am having so much fun. the teasers, the mv, the aesthetics, the choreo, the promotions, the b-sides, the whole thing is great ! it's really good. but it's not iconic. 

 

it's giving regular nct dream comeback, and this is not a regular nct dream comeback.

 

where is the iconic never heard before sound ? where is the crazy choreo ? the insane fashion choices ?? ? how can they make history when they look like any other kpop comeback ? 

 

sighs.

anyways, they're so cool and i'm very much enjoying myself. i just wish the company would've allowed the creative team to put as much love in their unit as they did with taeten and aseul. but we all know SMent only cares about the money, and this unit would've made them rich either way so why put real effort in it when you can half ass it and get a similar result.

 

 

to end on a more positive note tho: you should check out the dance performance (video above) it's so cool, they're so hot yall..... how can someone so pretty also be so talented ? it's unfair.
