fairies are real and the trees are proof
with these collages i was trying to imitate the vibes of my childhood notebooks, when me and my friends truly believed in fairies and any other magical creature, we even had a club to try and gather proof. we would go to the forest and look around for weird details that only a fairy could've done. we studied books !! ! we took it very seriously and it was so much fun, sometimes even scary.
catálogo de seres fantásticos was our favorite study book, and if you've read it you can probably understand why our missions were scary sometimes. i'm still not sure this book was for kids, at least not as young as we were. but maybe it was, you know back then the moral lessons of a lot of kid's books were quite spooky.
i remember being specially scared of the hipocampo story, it gave me so many nightmares. tbf i live in a city so surrounded by coast it's basically an island, which was not reassuring for a little girl that actually believed the evil human-organ-eating sea horse was real.
anyways ! my friend brought me this from a fungi museum, it's a passport and you're suppose to get a stamp at all the different museums,
she knew i wasn't gonna do all that but she thought it looked like something i would use for a collage and she was right !! i made this little mushroom collection, of all the mushrooms i've seen this autumn walking with my dog and i even rated them (i love rating things). i think it looks cute and it also has the vibes of something i would've done with my friends as a kid. these could very much be fairy patios, you know. i would definitely use mushrooms as covers from the sun if i was a fairy, have little picnic dates under it. or do you think maybe fungi eats fairies ? ??
