whats on my trinket shelf (2/?): ugly
one thing everyone knows about me: i love ugly. and i don't mean i like them in despite of. i mean i find ugly things very charming and aesthetically pleasing. so its a very common occurrence that someone would say to me something like "i found this ugly thing and it reminded me of you so i got it for you !", because of that i have a very interesting collection of weird looking trinkets.
i am once again gonna badly draw them for you (only my favorites because i have way too many), contrary to my last entry, as bad as my drawing skills are, the doodles are actually doing the trinkets a favor, because believe me they are ugly (some of them borderline scary)
#8 the cutest of them all: a stress ball my aunt gave to me. its suppose to be a cactus but its so round it just looks weird
#7 the tiniest of my alien collection: a rubber weird little creature a friend gave me when we were kids,
#6 grumpy care bare fuggler: grumpy is favorite bear and i actually have the original teddy bear and last year for christmas my aunt got me the ugly version ! i love him sm#5 weird bunny figurine: my grandma gave it to me idek where she got it from, i cant even tell for sure if its a bunny or not. yall shes soooo ugly and shes missing a leg. the ears are way too big and made of a complete different material than the rest of the doll ?? shes just wrong in so many ways. been with me for almost 10 years, love her to death !
#4 monk art: my friend came home from traveling across europe and this is what she brought me. its some sort of creature a monk drew so many centuries ago. its scary and weird and ugly and its in my room on a gorgeous rococo frame.
#3 pumpkin kettle demon jewelry box: my grandma is a trinket collector herself and when she move out to a new city, she had to leave some things behind. this is one of them. its giving thomas the train meets the egg from puss in boots but the face is way more realistic and its very creepy, very. creepy. and yes, those little pink things next to his eyes are his hands.
#2 pascua bunny: it's a pencil sharpener. the body proportions are insane, the size of the body that's outside of the egg implies he wouldn't fit in that egg but he does, which makes the whole thing a little bit uncanny. and i don't even want to talk about the choices they made with the face expression and the coloring....... so ugly. my aunt gave it to me
#1 nightmare fueling plushie: my grandma made this creature out of scrap fabric for my little cousin, and she got so scared she started crying and screaming, she didn't even want to look at it. my mom was there and she was like: "you know who would love this ? my teenage daughter". so she brought it home (from a different country btw) and she was right, its one of my most loved possessions, its hanging off my lamp right next to my dreamcatcher and i am 100% sure it's protecting me,
and thats it ! hope you enjoyed them ! im loving this series of entries, doodles and trinkets are my 2 most favorite things so this is so much fun for me゜・✭・゜・✫・゜
p.s. my dream toy/trinket since i was a kid is an exact copy (not mass produced) of lilo's ugly doll. both lilo and scrump spoke to me deeply when i watched that movie at 5 y/o. maybe someday i'll get her,,,
