so we imagine the impossible

 to caress the sea

or to eat a letter 

or to kiss a lizard 

you guys know gloria fuertes ? she's a spanish poet. i first knew of her when i was a kid and my mom bought me a book she wrote for kids. it was full of silly weird short rhymed stories, like calisto el calamar listo (calisto, the smart squid). i really loved that book, and i thought it was silly because it was for kids but then when i grew up and i got to read her adult poetry i realized it could also get silly, like besar un largarto (to kiss a lizard).

i don't usually enjoy poetry but i like hers, so i figured i would translate part of some of my favorites poems for you. maybe you can share your favorite poem with me ? so i can discover new poets.
